 LET FICTION BECOME REALITY

Science fiction application

HOW TO
Science fiction application is based on set-design, but on a permanent basis.
Some would say it's all done with 'smoke & mirrors' in order to sell the illusion and keep the cost down as many television and film productions work on tight budgets - especially when it comes to set-design.

There are no special materials needed to achieve what you see on this site - just a passion for science fiction and taking that passion to create a unique design using locally sourced materials - most of which are readily available.

However, and this is a question I get asked often, 'do I need to be skilled to achieve the transformation?' My answer is; first, you absolutely must have the passion for the project before you undertake any work - without it, you'll either make too many mistakes which will lead to you losing interest in your project which will result in it becoming a costly project.

Secondly, know your skill limitations  - if you are not sure how to tackle a particular job, do what I do... search the internet - do some research, but only if you are serious about what you want to achieve.

Basic skills: Carpentry, a reasonable knowledge of electronics, using a soldering iron with printed circuit boards (PCB) and patience - without it you will struggle to achieve the desired result.

Before you embarked on any aspect of science fiction application, you should study it from all angles so as to limit any possible errors along the way. It will also give you time to include any enhancements you may want to apply. Keep mistakes to a minimum.

How it Works

We all like to escape at times and lose ourselves in various ways.

It is a known fact that science fiction in all its forms gives us the chance to escape... perhaps for a while to a different dimension.

Science fiction interior application makes the dream a reality.

Some choose to collect merchandise and memorabilia from their favourite science fiction TV shows and movies and become loyal followers.

Some choose to attend the countless conventions around the world where they get to meet and interact with their favourite stars from the world of science fiction.

Then there are those who prefer to commit to costume while attending a convention dressed as their favourite science fiction character - all of which is part of the infectious attraction of 'Science Fiction'

For me, well, a slightly different story.

I became hooked on science fiction way back in 1964 after I saw my first science film at the cinema.
The film was 'The First Men In The Moon' by H.G.Wells

There was a moment in the film that captured my imagination as a young boy.
That moment was when scientist, Joseph Cavor (Lionel Jeffries) first stepped into the Sphere which he had built over a number of years with the intention of taking a trip to the Moon.
From the outside, the Sphere was exactly what it was suppose to be... a Sphere, but when he opened the hatch and maneuvered himself down into the Sphere, it was as if had stepped into another world, or that's how it appeared to me at the time.

The dream was now set in my mind... I wanted to somehow live the experience.
